We need truck drivers to pick up large donations and to deliver goods to our clients. A CDL is not required to drive our trucks.
Donation pickups are typically made on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 9:00 to 12:00. Each truck is staffed by two people. A list of pickups is provided by the pickup scheduler. Prior to making the pickup, one member of the team calls the donors to confirm that the donation is still on and to offer an estimated arrival time. It takes some strength to load and unload the furniture that is picked up. This is a good job for people that like to be very busy.
Deliveries are made on Tuesday afternoon, Friday afternoon, and Saturday morning. Only one person is required to deliver a load of personal goods. However several delivery drivers deliver as a team. The client is normally required to provide their own help to move furniture from the truck into the new home. So, this does not require a lot of strength. This is a good job for someone that wants to see the end result of The FreeStore’s work.
