Quality, previously loved, gently used and new items accepted.
All items must be clean and in good working condition (fully-functioning).
Free of rips, stains and/or pet hair.
All staff and volunteers have the right to refuse items that do not meet our quality standard.
How to Donate
You have 2 options to get your donations to the FreeStore:
Option 1: Drop-off at our warehouse – 841 11th St. #101, Des Moines, IA
- Items can be dropped off at our warehouse, WHEN OPEN.
- Warehouse is open for drop-offs from 9am – 11am Tuesday, Friday and Saturday
- Volunteers are available to help unload and to give you a receipt for tax purposes.
- Please do not leave items outside the Warehouse.

Option 2: Schedule a residential pick-up
We pick-up in the Des Moines metro area, which includes: Altoona, Ankeny, Grimes, Johnston, Norwalk, Pleasant Hill, Polk City, Urbandale, Waukee, West Des Moines, and Windsor Heights.
We do NOT pick-up outside of the metro including Adel, Carlisle, Granger, Indianola, Madrid, or Van Meter. Pick-ups occur between 9:00 – 12:00 noon on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday.

After you have contacted us, our process includes:
- A scheduler will call you back within 48 hours to schedule a day for your pick-up.
- The pick-up driver will contact you through text or phone the day before your scheduled pick-up to give you a window of time for the pick-up.
- The pick-up takes place and a donation receipt is provided.
Note: The FreeStore is closed on all major holidays. Please call or check online to see if we are open. Due to the high demand for residential pick-ups, we are experiencing delays in scheduling pick-ups. Currently, our pick-ups are scheduled 2 weeks out.
